Who Are We?
Together We Stand (TWS) wants to support approximate 50 parents from diverse ethnic minority groups, with a focus on the African and Caribbean communities. TWS aims to deliver peer support and engagement to help with tackling social isolation, food poverty, hygiene poverty and mental wellness in a safe online space as well as a physical forum were they can come together.
To support families that face systemic Bias and Racism: Black, Asian, and minoritised ethnic families frequently encounter unconscious bias and negative stereotypes from professionals, sometimes leading to their child's needs being viewed as "bad behaviour" or "naughtiness" rather than a disability. Also, diverse communities culturally view a child with a disabilty as a curse , a dent to the family. As a result may not want to access services to better the life of the child. TWS aims to create more awareness to parents about autism. It is not a curse, a flaw or a punishment, and they are not to be blamed.

Community Services
We intend to provide food bank services, featuring culturally appropriate food packages.
We want to ensure no one in the community is left behind by creating both online and in-person meeting spaces to discuss health and well-being. Minority communities have stigma or shame surrounding disability, which can complicate engagement with services or even social and community settings. It also leads to families isolating themselves and losing access to the services available. ASFP aims to bridge these barriers to unify the communities. To ensure that no group is left behind or remains in isolation. To ensure that each community is fully represented in the community gatherings.
